Terms of Service
Effective 2026-08-09
These terms govern your use of TownPortal (the "Service"), a listing board for Diablo II: Resurrected — Reign of the Warlock item barter, operated by Kevin Seo as an individual.
Read section 5 first if you read nothing else: the operator is not a party to your trades and cannot recover items you lose.
1. Scope
These terms form an agreement between you and the operator covering your access to and use of the Service. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
The operator may revise these terms. Material changes are announced in the Service at least seven days before they take effect, and thirty days before if they reduce your rights or add obligations. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the revision; if you do not, stop using the Service and delete your account.
2. Definitions
In these terms:
- "Member" means a person who has signed in with a verified email address.
- "Listing" means an item a member offers, together with the items they want in exchange.
- "Trade" means the exchange members arrange through the Service and carry out inside the game.
- "Content" means anything a member submits — listings, chat messages, display name, and Battle.net tag.
3. Accounts
Sign-in is through your Battle.net account. The operator never sees your Blizzard password — Blizzard authenticates you and returns only your account id and BattleTag. Whoever controls that Battle.net account controls this one, so its security is yours to keep.
One person, one account. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell the operator at support@townportal.app if you believe someone else is using it.
4. What the Service does
The Service lets members publish listings, search them, message each other, and record that a trade completed. It also shows estimated values derived from completed trades and observed rune prices.
The Service handles information about trades. It does not handle items, currency, or accounts. Every exchange happens inside the game, between the two members, under Blizzard's rules.
5. The operator is not a party to your trades
This is the most important clause here.
The operator does not hold items in escrow, does not verify that a listing is truthful, does not guarantee that a member will follow through, and cannot reverse or compensate a trade that goes wrong. Reputation signals, availability badges, and response metrics are descriptions of past behaviour, not assurances about future behaviour.
Estimated values are informational. They are derived from completed trades and from third-party market observations, both of which can be wrong, stale, or manipulated. Decide for yourself what a trade is worth.
The operator does mediate in one narrow sense: reports of fraud can lead to a listing being removed or an account suspended. That is enforcement against a member, not recovery for you.
6. Rules of use
You must not:
- Misrepresent an item — its stats, quality, sockets, or whether it is identified.
- Offer or solicit real-money payment, account sales, or anything else Blizzard's terms prohibit. The Service is for in-game barter only.
- Impersonate another person, or use a display name or Battle.net tag that is not yours.
- Post content that is unlawful, abusive, or harassing, or send unsolicited bulk messages.
- Use automated means to scrape, flood, or otherwise burden the Service, or attempt to bypass its access controls.
- Manipulate reputation, availability, or value estimates — including by using additional accounts.
7. Your content
You keep whatever rights you have in your content. You grant the operator the right to store, display, and transmit it as needed to run the Service — showing your listing in search results, for instance, or delivering your message to the other party.
The operator may remove content that breaks these rules, and may suspend or terminate an account that does so repeatedly or seriously. Where circumstances allow, you will be told why.
To take a listing down, write to support@townportal.app — the Service has no self-service control for it yet. Chat messages are visible to the other party and are retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability
The Service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime. The operator may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it. If the Service shuts down permanently, reasonable notice will be given so members can retrieve what matters to them.
Game data — item catalogues, affix ranges, rune values — is derived from third-party sources and from the game itself. It can be incomplete or out of date, especially just after a ladder reset.
9. Liability
The operator is liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for damage to life, body, or health, as required by law. Beyond that, and to the extent Korean law permits, the operator is not liable for lost items, lost trades, or other loss arising from dealings between members, from the accuracy of estimated values, or from interruptions to the Service.
Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
If a dispute arises, contact support@townportal.app first — most are resolved that way. If it cannot be, the courts of the Republic of Korea have jurisdiction, determined under the Civil Procedure Act.
